New Sculpture & Drawing: Osborne Samuel Gallery, London

3 October - 22 November 2008

This exhibition marks the culmination of a year of intensive activity for Sean Henry. Exactly twelve months ago, Couple, his critically acclaimed pair of large-scale bronze standing figures, was installed off the North East coast at Newbiggin-by-the-Sea in Northumberland - the Uk's first permanent offshore sculpture. This was followed by an ambitious, multi-figure, indoor installation at the new premises of Standard Chartered Bank in the City of London. While completing this latter project he conceived most of the new work shown in this current exhibition - Folly, a site specific interctive installation comissioned by The Scheringa Museum of Realist Art in the Netherlands; a triple-head wall-mounted work entitled Papillon; two self-portrait heads and two new standing figures - all of which are shown here fot the first time.
